THE CANDIDATES

 RICK NEWTON

Born in Hannibal, MO (hometown of Mark Twain and the unsinkable Molly Brown), Rick chose New Mexico to be his home back in 1969 and has lived in Taos full time for the past 14 years.  His career includes 25 years working with Special Forces and Navy Seals operations; participating in the Soviet nuclear threat assessments, participating in finding sunken ships (and treasure) and other searches. Newton maintains a top secret security clearance. “I am committed to fundamental change from the path we are on and this change must be completed in 2 to 6 years. I will apply all I’ve learned from my career to bring real change and not allow Washington to change me into a career politician. I look forward to living under every law I help to pass.”  For more information, visit www.ricknewton2012.com.
JEFF BYRD

Jeff was born in the rural town of Springer, N.M. and was raised on the small family ranch outside of Mosquero.  He has always considered the 3rd Congressional District home. Byrd earned an Agricultural Engineering degree from NMSU and worked as a project engineer at Environeering, Inc.  After the unexpected death of his father, he took over managing the ranch full time.  He is married to his wife, Suzanne, and has two sons.  I want to take the government back for the people as defined by the constitution. I will be a representative of the people; for the people.”  For more information, visit www.jeffbyrd2012.com.

Club 54 and the SFFRW are excited to announce the 2011 Ladies of Liberty Gala to be held on Saturday, November 12th at the historic La Fonda Hotel in downtown Santa Fe!

This year's gala will be a double celebration!

First, we will honor President Ronald Reagan, as this year marks the 100th anniversary of his birth. His son, Michael Reagan, author and political commentator, will be our keynote speaker. He will share inspiring stories about President Reagan and share his ideas on what it will take to win in the 2012 elections.

We will also be recognizing Governor Susana Martinez with our Ladies of Liberty Award for her historic election as the first woman governor of New Mexico and the first Hispanic woman governor in the United States.

Early ticket price is $80 per person until September 15th, then the regular price is $100 per person.

To order reserved seats, you can buy a full table for 10 ($800 early price, $1000 regular price). Your group will have a reserved table and a sign to recognize you!

If you would like to be an underwriter of the event, which will pay for Mr. Reagan's appearance, the ticket price is $250. In addition to supporting this event with your donation, you will be invited to a private reception with Mr. Reagan, get an autographed copy of his book, The New Reagan Revolution, and will get VIP seating.

Our Red Elephant Silent Auction is an important part of the event. Proceeds from the silent auction will go to support our local and state candidates in the 2012 election. If you would like to donate an item or a gift certificate, please let us know.
