What Is Club 54?

Club 54 is a social / political networking group that meets on a regular basis for cocktails and appetizers, and includes an important speaker on current political events. The dates of our events vary, based on speaker availability and current political 'hot button issues'. We also move our meetings around town so that we can support our local businesses. While we are sponsored by the Santa Fe Federated Republican Women, our attendees are both men and women, and come from all political parties. Rather than focus on partisan issues, we advocate for typical conservative issues, such as public safety, national security, educational achievement, fiscally responsible government, transparency, accountability, and openness, job creation, and an end to corruption at all levels of government. Some of the issues that we have championed include the defeat of the real estate transfer tax, the defeat of the increase in the county's gross receipt tax, the defeat of the city's planned 41% property tax increase, the repeal of the law allowing illegal aliens to obtain a NM drivers license, and the passage of the Photo Voter ID bill.
